About us

DGC's history

DGC is a community run, not for profit organisation. It was formed in 1981 at the old Town Hall in Mitchell Street, then moved to Fannie Bay and later to Nightcliff High School. The Club moved to the Marrara Training Hall in 1984, which facility was built by the NT Government for the development of community based gymnastics in the Territory. We have been here ever since.

Affiliation

DGC is affiliated with Gymnastics Australia and Gymnastics Northern Territory.

Club 10

As a means to continuously improve, DGC strives to adhere to Club 10 guidelines. This is a quality assurance program, which offers guidelines for the delivery of Gymnastics programs Australia wide. It allows clubs to identify areas within its organisation that require further development.

Points are awarded for initiatives, achievements and plans for further improvements. Following an external audit clubs are awarded a star rating between 1 and 5.
